You cant choose where you burn fat from (spot reduce) but here is what you can do!
There are two types of fat in our body white fat cells and brown fat cells,“
WHITE FAT CELLS(white adipose tissue)
Typically accumulate in areas like the bum, thighs, abdomen, arms, and chest. The function of these fat cells is to store energy and regulate hormones,
BROWN FAT CELLS(brown adipose tissue)
Typically accumulate around the back, neck and collarbone.
The function of these cells is to heat the body.
White fat cells are not as metabolically active as brown fat cells which is why areas like the abs/thighs/bum (which contain more white fat cells) tend to be harder to shift.
BUT there are a number of different factors that contribute to exactly where and why we store fat in our body and these factors are all due to hormone regulation
Just to illustrate my point, when I lowered my overall body fat to about 8%, I noticed that my upper body was storing a lot less fat than my lower body. After doing a lot of research, I realized that my lower body was storing more fat probably because of an up-regulation of my Estrogen Hormone!
A BIG factor to this was that I was drinking water out of plastic bottles, certain plastics have chemicals which up-regulate Estrogen (making me store excess fat in my legs) When I then changed my routine and started drinking liquids out of BPA-free bottles, my leg fat literally disappeared in days!
This experience sparked a big interest and, since then, I have been studying hormones and their effect on body fat and use methods on my clients which time and time again show effective results!
The most common place for storing body fat and the most dangerous is abdominal fat!
Increased belly fat increases our risk of heart disease, elevated blood pressure and blood sugar.
HOW DO WE GET RID OF BELLY FAT?
FIRST start with the diet, it’s no secret a caloric deficit is essential for fat loss anywhere!
YOU MUST BURN MORE THAN YOU CONSUME
start eating more fresh and wholefoods. Eliminate processed foods and focus on eating more fresh fruits and vegetables. As your diet becomes cleaner, your body will use excess fat for energy production.
NOW FOR THE HORMONE PART
The main hormone responsible for belly fat is CORTISOL!!
Any stress exposure will increase cortisol and call for the storage of abdominal fat accumulation.
THIS ISNT JUST PHYSICAL STRESS
It is suggested one of the most common stressors is the consumption of foods to which we are intolerant. Suspect foods include wheat, dairy, soy, eggs, nuts, yeast and corn.
Another big stressor is consumption of sugary foods as this up-regulates insulin.
By reducing exposure to these foods, you reduce the stress on the gastrointestinal and immune system, lowering cortisol! Lowering unwanted body fat storage!
This is just ONE area of the body!
If you store more fat in your back, arms, face, neck, hips, legs.......
I sure as hell know why and this is just one small tool I use when analysing my clients before pictures to optimise results!
If you need my help! There is no better time!
